Why it's time to listen to some podcasts.

Why it's time to listen to some podcasts.

Oh me oh my, what a year its been.
We are already in December and we've had our fair share of hardship. From lockdown, to literally being locked down at home without the social interaction that helps us to thrive and enjoy life!

This blog post is probably a good little reminder to get your airpods or (any headphones) on, and start listening and interacting.

During lockdown, phonecalls at the end of a day talking to customers seemed to be a little much for me personally. Although, I was craving the ability to interact and eavesdrop on conversations of people I didn't know. A weird thing to miss? We've all got our own weirdness about us so no judgement here please!

I started listening to podcasts and here is why you should to!

I was able to learn new things about my interests or hobbies. The podcast isn't only entertaining content, but also educational.

I did discover many podcast episodes that can also help you escape your daily routine. You can listen to news, politics, comedians, and celebrities instead of listening to your playlist over and over again.

I found myself listening and throwing myself into the lives of others, and that sense of escapism but also relatability at times, was the perfect thing to get me through some of the hardest days.

Some of our faves ( well mine) but the team would agree ;)

1. Darling shine podcast
About:

Join us as we blindly navigate and unpack the raw and often unspoken experiences of womanhood, grief, friendship and everything in between. Darling, Shine is your survival kit to the unexpected shit life throws at you.

2. Code Switch
About:

It's the fearless conversations about race that you've been waiting for. Hosted by journalists of color, our podcast tackles the subject of race with empathy and humor. We explore how race affects every part of society — from politics and pop culture to history, food and everything in between.

3. You're wrong about

About: Mike and Sarah are journalists obsessed with the past. Every week they reconsider a person or event that's been miscast in the public imagination.

Now i'll leave you with that and this stunning image of a bathroom i'm ready to dip into ( in my dreams).

Enjoy listening - let me know what you think!

Love,
Steph x
